DZIBILCHALTUN
The temple of the seven dolls at Dzibilchaltun and the alter in the foreground of the picture below are aligned so that at sunrise on the equinoxes the sun comes in through the central windows and illuminates the alter. These pictures were taken just after sunrise on a cloudy day a couple of weeks before the spring equinox and the sun is rising just a bit South (right) of the temple.
The palace at Dzibilchaltun (below) is one of the largest in the Yucatan.
