- Columns IV,1 to IV,17 -

IV,1 : Teti

/// ibd 6, hrw 21

/// 6 months and 21 days

IV,2 : (lost)

This lost line may well have contained the name of Userkare, an otherwise unattested king.

IV,3 : Pepi I

/// rnp.t 20

/// 20 years

IV,4 : Merenre I

/// rnp.t 44

/// [4]4 years

IV,5 : Pepi II

/// rnp.t 90

/// 90 years

IV,6 : Merenre II ?

/// rnp.t 1, ibd 1

/// 1 year and 1 month

IV,7 : (lost)

The lost line between Merenre II and Nitocris is somewhat surprising and might perhaps be the result of a misplacing of a fragment.

The following is a hieroglyphic transcription and translation into English of the Turin Kinglist, column IV, line 1 to column IV, line 17. This section corresponds to Dynasties 6 and 7/8. It contains two summations: one for this section proper and one for this section combined with the previous one. It is odd that the composer of the Kinglist, or its source, felt the need to distinguish between the kings up to the 5th Dynasty and those of the 6th to 8th Dynasty, only to combine them in an additional summation seperately.

Please note that you need to have the transliteration font installed on your computer to view this page properly.
