The person
who controlled
the Autopen...!
In comments to reporters, President
Trump asserted that
Joe Biden wasn't acting as the
real President during his time in office, and that someone else was
making decisions.
"Who was signing all this stuff by autopen?"
Trump asked, adding "Who would think you sign important
documents by autopen?!
These are major documents you're signing."
"Everything was signed by
autopen. Almost everything!" he
added.
Trump followed up with a post asserting Biden wasn't the President.
Trump then reiterated the comments Friday, stating,
"Crooked Joe Biden got us into a real mess
with Russia and everything else he did, frankly. But he didn't
know about it, and he, generally speaking, signed it with
autopen, so how would he know?"
"That autopen is a big deal. I don't know, you know? Who's doing
this?" Trump continued.
"When my people come up, Will [Scharf] and all of the people,
Steve [Miller], they come up... Sir, this is an executive order,
they explain it to me, and 90% of the time, I sign it. 99% of
the time, I say, do it.
But, they come up, and I sign it," Trump
said.
"But, you don't use autopen. Number one, it's disrespectful to
the office. Number two, maybe it's not even valid because, you
know, who's getting him to sign? He had no idea what the hell he
was doing.
If he did, all of these bad things wouldn't be
happening," Trump further declared.
The full press conference is below:
The New York Post reports that one senior Biden aide was making the
call on what documents to sign with the autopen.
Without disclosing the name of the key Biden aide, the Post noted
that an insider revealed,
"I feared no one as much as I feared that
[staffer]. To me, [the staffer] basically was the president,"
the person said.
"No one ever questioned [the staffer]. Period."
The source further stated that "everyone" in the
inner circle believed that the aide was overstepping their authority
but no one dared speak up about it.
"There is no clarity on who actually approved
what - POTUS or [the aide]," the insider told The Post's Steve
Nelson.
The autopen finding was revealed by the Oversight Project...
