The American journalist compared

 the anti-ICE demonstrations in Minneapolis

to chaos...

The riots in Minnesota against the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents could be a sign of the country's disintegration, American journalist Tucker Carlson asserted on Wednesday.

"We are seeing the destruction of the social fabric, the government, and possibly the entire country.

This is one of the most serious moments of our lives," he commented, referring to the unfolding protests.

The journalist showed images (watch bottom page video) that, he said, reflect the current reality of the city amidst clashes between federal immigration agents and protesters.

He described scenes of what he called "chaos," with broken windows, looting, and graffiti on the streets.

"Chaos is the worst thing that can happen. Chaos equals death: the death of people, the death of the weak, the death of countries," Carlson added.

In that regard, he drew attention to the way these events are reported and consumed, stating that the images from Minneapolis show "only part" of the problem.

"If you've been following the ICE controversy through a couple of clicks, about American citizens being shot and killed by ICE agents, and you think that's it.

You should know that it's only part of it," he pointed out.

He also maintained that what is being observed is,

"a clear and demonstrable organized attempt" to provoke and "sow chaos."

However, he added, it is difficult to perceive because what is circulating, especially on social media, are,

"30-second clips, out of context," which do not show "the forces that are driving both sides."

Carlson warned that,

"Americans' perceptions are being deliberately manipulated by a lot of vested interests."

Thousands of residents of Minneapolis, Minnesota's most populous city, joined a general strike demanding that immigration agents cease their violence against protesters and leave the state.

The controversy surrounding ICE's actions intensified after January 7, when an agent killed 37-year-old American Renee Nicole Good during an operation in Minneapolis.

Since then, protests in the city have grown, culminating in the fatal shooting of another American citizen, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, during a raid to locate an undocumented immigrant.
